June 30, 2009 Canada/Hong Kong SAR Day

Working on Canada Day for the first time. I rather have a long weekend then to take a day off in the middle of the week. Nice to have that choice.

It will be July soon, it hasn't been that summer like has it? I am very much enjoying the new bbq though. Crystal, the old bbq was a built-in so the stand went into the ground, it was just easier for me to saw it off.

Get to perform at the Music School's concert at the end of July. Very excited since all the students of the school will be playing so it'll be a big orchestra. Whole family will be watching the concert, of course I'm just a small potatoe in comparison to the rest of the list. Going to be a great music night. Looking forward to all the teachers performing!

June 19, 2009 Enjoy the Moment

Everytime after music practice with the group, I'm happy, just like right now! It's nice to be playing music in a group. It's nice to be playing chinese music. Later on, I will be playing Macau/Portugese music with the erhu. That's going to be interesting!!! Happy happy!

With the help of Johanne/Paul's Skil Saw, I finally sawed off the old bbq, the bbq that we haven't used in 6-7 years. The neighbourhood junkdog scooped up shortly after we left it on our curb for garbage day. I wish I could spy on the person and see who it is. Things disappear off our curb pretty quickly, our old doors, tools, must be someone nearby, but who?!? Even my nosy dad has yet to find out. I used to see an older guy driving around in his red pickup on garbage day and picking stuff up, but I haven't seen him awhile. maybe i should set up a camera???

June 3, 2009 June Already

Not sure where May went. I'm another year older. House is under going a lot of upgrades. I'm declaring war on my backward. The Fiskars weed puller is a must have for all! I'm taking full advantage of the new bbq. Our 32 year old furnance is outta here along with the Sears brand A/C (who knows how old). Performed with the Amigu Di Macau Orchestra at the Halton Asian Heritage Month Festival. Went to BMO field to watch Canada vs USA women soccer. I'm sure I did other things in May but it's too long ago already.

April 29, 2009 Getting Used to EST

Back from my trip. Quite tired still. Pictures to be uploaded soon (I hope).

I miss HK a lot. Just like last time, I get into this deep thought of asking a lot of "What ifs", mind boggling~~

The trip was amazing and to have Daisy with me this time made it so much more fun (& someone to take pictures of me and the scenery and not just the scenery). Daisy and I also went to Xiamen, China. Quite an eye opener to see the developments in the city. Xiamen is a big city and is designated so by China. I was most surprised by the cars that ppl were driving, mostly imports, Toyotas, Hondas, VW and Mercedes. Quite a contrast to DeQing where ppl are definitely not well off. The rich gets richer and the poor gets poorer. Awaiting our next big trip sis!

March 26, 2009 Two Weeks

WOW. Only 15 days to go before vacation. Work will be crazy these two weeks.

A few weeks ago, Daisy and I watched One Week. We went to a late showing but surprisingly, there were a lot of ppl watching too. The movie was great, I loved it a lot. For one, there’s Joshua Jackson as the lead, need I say more? Two, Canada!!!! The cross Canada trip was amazing, I wish to do that some day, the scenery was breathtaking, I can’t help throughout the movie to say “Gotta love Canada”. Three, the simplicity of the plot. If you were given one week to live, are you going to look back at your life with regrets? It makes you wonder.

March 5, 2009 Roll Up The Rim

And so it's March! After 8 cups of Timmies. I finally won something. Yay!!! Have to win at least once. So now I'm totally satisfied.

Only a month to go before the HK trip. I'm very excited cause this time I get to go back with Daisy. Flying to HK and back alone was boring, and there was no one for me to talk to!

Lots on the go right now, especially work wise, but some how I feel very bored. I dunno. I need some excitement. I need to go out more or something. It's amazing I have been able to keep up for so long. Well, after HK, i'll be taking a course at centennial. and Maybe i'll start learning yoga? I have so many plans for after HK. haha

Feb 16, 2009 Family Day

Long weekend, spent ripping mirrors and wallpaper off the wall. Wallpaper is a PITA, why was it so popular? There's wallpaper in every single room of the house although a few rooms are wallpaper free now. Ripping is the hard part, painting is easy which we are in the process of doing right now and I'm slacking off by blogging. hehe

The hallway will be done this weekend, wohooo. On to the next project!

Less than a year left to Olympics. OMG!!!

Feb 7, 2009 Another Month

This upcoming week will be long weekend weee. This weekend just started and I'm thinking about next weekend. hahaha

Painting the entrance closet this weekend, it's time to have a door again. I'm starting a list of house projects again. Maybe I'll get through a few more this year. It's been quite boring lately. I need to find more things to do!!!

Jan 25, 2009 Feel the Love

Tomorrow is Chinese New Years!!!! It's a happy time! Time to spend with family. Last night was the before New Years family dinner. It's so much fun eating with my family, we can laugh and talk endlessly especially with my cousins! It's great to feel the love and support from everyone!

Happy Chinese New Year! May the year of the Ox bring happiness to everyone!!!!

Jan 9, 2009 Hong Kong

I guess it's confirmed, especially since Daisy and I bought our plane tickets, we're going to Hong Kong in April. So excited. At least this time, I'll have company on the plane. We're both going to avoid shopping for the next few months until the trip. Gotta save as much money as possible. Although we saved quite a bit on the air fare. it was so cheap! One way to Hong Kong direct was only $375. I paid $700 last time. can't wait for my trip

Another bright note, I survived my first week of work after 1.5 weeks of holiday. Phew!!! Mind you, I spent more time fixing computers then actually doing work. Have to fix another computer on Monday.

Dec 28, 2008 Shopping Anyone?

Family Christmas dinner was awesome, had so much fun. I was extremely happy that the turkey turned out so well. The best turkey I have cooked so far. Everyone agreed. Hmm, wonder what will happen next year...

Boxing day was spent at Vaughan Mills with my two cousins and sisters. 8.5 hours of boxing day shopping. My feet were definitely hurting at the end. Actually, all four of us were pretty tired near the end. Craziest store was definitely Guess. We spent an hour waiting in line to pay for our stuff. There were definitely lots of deals though! My little cousin (well, not so little anymore) is all grown up. haha. time flies. LOL

After a day of rest, Daisy and I went to Eaton Centre with my mom and aunt today. 6 hours later, I ended up with nothing. My goal was to get a jacket and who ends up getting jackets? My sister and my mom. Two jackets but none for me. I hate Murphy's law!!!!!

Dec 11, 2008 427 Days to go...

Daisy and I got tickets to the 2010 Olympics. Very exciting. And I got tickets to the one thing that I want most, the opening ceremony. OMG! Of course, we will have to find accomodation somewhere. That's the tricky part.

And work is work, lots of work, not enough time and it's getting closer and closer to christmas so ppl want stuff done now. Only 14 more days to holiday, I'm so looking forward to it!

Nov 28, 2008 So nice...

The drive to Ottawa was excellent, the weather was so nice though it was a bit cold. I've been to Ottawa a number of times before, but this was my first time touring the Parliament. It was a very nice tour! We had a great guide, she spoke so well. The library was just absolutely gorgeous!!! I haven't seen a beautiful room before, the architecture was just spectacular and intricate. The trip was relaxing, nothing too exciting (i have been to most of the places before) but to be on trip with my dad was the best part. He really enjoyed the trip and the four us laughed a lot throughout the trip. Still get a good laugh about my mommy being so interested at everything at the currency museum, she's been working at a bank all her life. 4 Days of Quality family time, nothing beats that.

Nov 20, 2008 Where did November go?

Life is quite boring right now, haha. nothing to blog about, other than I'm working like crazy because I'm on vacation next week. The past 2 weeks have been all about work, trying to catch up on work, trying to please clients, trying to stay on top of my projects. But, that's not possible because old projects keep coming back which adds to the current work. I think I have reached a more manageable task lists (cross fingers) and hopefully I can keep crossing more things off my list because we're heading into year end. OMG!!!

On a bright note, I'm going on a family vacation, like really, family, the four of us. My dad will actually be coming with us. first time in like what 20 years?!?!? It's about time! Who cares if we get into arguments, I'm just glad daddy was willing to take time off work. He deserves to be. My car is ready for a road trip (well, sorta), I should throw out the papers and junk in my car.

Nov 9, 2008 Where did October go?

I don't remember much from the last few weeks. Work is still busy. Lots on the go so it feels like time flew by.

Went on another geocaching adventure yesterday. it was so fun~ Paul and Johanne invited me to their house afterwards and Paul's chili was yummy!!! watching hockey in HD is very nice! as is playing the wiiiii. A great saturday! today is just for resting up for another busy week at work.

Oct 19, 2008 HGC Jam

After work on Friday was the HGC Jam night, it was awesome. My bosses and coworkers playing songs for us in our new office space, wires dangling off the ceiling, haha. What an enjoyable night!!! This is how HGC breaks into the new space by having a Jam before renovations kick in. haha.

I'm looking forward to my vacation, but before then, I need to get catchup to a more comfortable pace with my work, more and more things keep getting piled on. Ganbatte!!!

Oct 13, 2008 THANKS!!!

What a wonderful weekend!!! And the amazing weather we had, can't ask for more! Started with the Lantern Festival on Friday. It was ok, wasn't that exciting, too many dinosaurs. Saturday was the family dinner, even took out the barbeque for lamp chops and steak. Yummy!!! Sunday, went for a nice drive to Fenelon Falls. Pretty autumn colours!!! Today, didn't do much, just the way I like it.

Last wednesday, I was suppose to go to dinner with Crystal to celebrate her birthday, instead we went to a Raptors game. Her boss gave her tickets. We were pretty close to the court, only 12 rows back. It was weird watching the game at eye level at not from the 300s level. The players were so close and tall!!! hahaha

Oct 6, 2008 I Need A Break

Same old story at work. very busy. period

Joey's concert was amazing!!!! omg, it was an awesome concert. She sang so well, and she's so real. Our seats were pretty good, closer to the stage then we normally are.

Another concert to look forward to, JAY CHOU!!!! We got tickets. Wohooo! I'm excited eventhough I'm not even really a fan of him

Sept 28, 2008 (o':'o)

Still very busy, I was out of the office a lot last week. I did a train vibration job on. It was almost a disaster as we had been there for 4 hrs and no trains came, luckily, 2 trains finally came. Phew. It was a really nice day so no compaints really. I'm glad I had company though...

Way too busy, I feel like I have no time to do anything. sigh....
But I decided, no matter what, I will make plans with all my friends because I haven't seen many of you in a long time!!!

Sept 10, 2008 Crazy Weeks

The last 2 weeks have been crazy. The Labour Day weekend was awesome, can't ask for better weather. I went to Cobourg with my family for the day. Really enjoyable!!!

The last few days have been quite tiring! Ended up working the evening shift for a job at the Island Airport. I had a great time, watched a lot of planes. And bonus, I got to play with my camera. Daisy and I are still learning the settings. I took the shortest ferry ride in the world, a mere 110m ferry ride which took 90 seconds. Michael Phelps can swim way faster than that! Now, I'm kinda sad the island airport didn't get the bridge. And I would seriously consider taking Porter Airlines, it's so convenient and less of a hassle compared to the bigger airports.

Aug 25, 2008 Let's Go Again

I had an amazing weekend. I went to Muskoka with my 4 girl friends. It's amazing how long we've known each and have kept in contact since Grade 9. The suite we had at the Delta Grandview Resort was so goood. I loved the full kitchen and bathroom. We did as much as we could pack in 2 days time. I think my legs are a bit sore from it. I made the decision to swing by Casino Rama on our way home yesterday. The crash on 400 which closed down both lanes for a bit made the decision easy since I was driving. hahaha. I lost $20 but it was icing on the cake to cap off an amazing weekend. The weather was very nice and made the trip even more enjoyable as we sat by the water and relax. I wished we were there for the whole week!!!

Aug 18, 2008 GO CANADA!!!

On Saturday, it was my company's summer event which I helped planned. Unfortunately, no one foresaw the traffic that we would encounter and while we were stuck in traffic, I had to call Peller Estates and Niagara College for a time change. Luckily, they were both very accommodating, and we were able to switch our times. And LUCKILY, the jetboat allowed us onto the 5:45pm boat instead of the 2:00pm as originall scheduled. The jetboat tour was awesome, mind you, I scared myself a bit when I had troubled breathing after the third big wave. Why did I followed the girls into 2nd Row again? It was called the Drowning section for a reason! There was no time to react to the waves at all, it just came and I was surprised by the force of the water that hit us. We were literally sitting in waist high water. I had fun (minus the scare), but I think this is a once in a lifetime thing for me. hahaha~

A picture of us in the boat after a small wave~ the other picture they took was either too boring or you can't see any of us cause we were all under water.

Aug 11, 2008 YAY Olympics!!

I spent the last two week studying for the Professional Practice Exam. It really took the excitement out of the start of Olympics. Well, it's over! It's really hard writing an exam after 2 years. My hand started hurting halfway through the exam. haha. And a girl kept sighing next to me throughout the whole exam, I wanted to slap her!!!! I'm glad it's over with, I was so drained after the exam on Saturday but I was able to watch the Olympics the whole night without having to worry about studying. yay!

I love watching Olympics, those who know me long, know that very well. If only I didn't have to work, I would not sleep and watch it live all night, just like back in the school days. Although I prefer winter olympics, summer is great to watch too. Canada may not be best in sports, it's great to cheer them on. They may not win metals, but I'm still proud of their accomplisments especially setting personal bests and new national records. GO CANADA!!!!

July 31, 2008 OMG AUGUST

I was in Sault Ste Marie the last day and a half. For once, the flights there and back were on time, like really on time. I was so shocked! No delays, nil! Both flights were full, all 24 seats were taken. Most ppl were on business like me. I was given a brand new 09 Nissan Versa to drive, it had 30 km on it. The bad thing about Sault Ste Marie Airport is that it's 25km away from town. Besides work, I had a little bit of time to see the town, the weather didn't really cooperate otherwise I would have had more time. oh well. next time. Downtown Sault Ste Marie is like any downtowns, many one way street which means I had to rely on my trusty visitor map and my gps. I'm really glad I got into geocaching, having a handheld gps is great! I only had to do a U-turn once, but i was lost a few times, there were one too many one way streets and I had to keep my eye on the road and not on my helpers.

July 24, 2008 Is summer half over?

It's almost nearing the end of July! The last two months flew right by, maybe because I hadn't eat much? hahaha. I have to start all the projects I wanted to get done this summer. Grab the sander and paint brush, here I go!!!

So last week I went to Southern Ontario. First stop was Kingsville, 30 minutes southeast of Windsor. It took 4 hours of driving to get there, luckily I only drove halfway there. Here are three things I noticed in Kingsville, well, southwestern Ontario...

There are acres of greenhouses all over, and I mean acres and acres...

Then are lots of these as well, and many of them in the middle of cornfields, but hey, oil is oil...

And plenty of these new guys in town...

My boss and I drove along Lake Erie towards the east to Bleinhem then on to Norwich, it was a hot day but the lake breeze made it an enjoyable ride. I love being able to travel around!

July 23, 2008 Have to Study

Last week, I went on a whirlwind tour of southwestern ontario in a day to visit three job sites. I will post pics later. Today I went to Cobaconk, yes, it's a town, on the welcome sign, it ways "Welcome to Cobaconk, Home to Canada's Smallest Prison". I'm sad I didn't get a chance to take a pic. Maybe next time!

I have to start studying for my professional practice exam. When was the last time I had to study? over two years ago! This is gonna be "so fun". I must concentrate!

July 16, 2008 Perseverance

It’s been over a month now since I stumbled into my weight loss treatment. I mean stumble in the sense that it just happened all of sudden. But I’m doing this for my health, I don’t want to be 30 and have all sorts of health problems because I’m way overweight. I have always said that I have been blessed in my life and that I have met many ppl who have helped me along the ways. This is no different. I didn’t tell many ppl about it because that’s just how I am, private in many ways and very open in others ( I think it’s a confidence issue, hahaha). The main reason I put my faith into this is because this is alternative treatment. No machines, no pills, just plain Chinese medicine (thousands of year in history) and it’s all external. Each day I get a massage, can’t beat that! Next time you see me and do notice a difference from before, please say so, it will make me happy (tehehe). Even if you just notice the difference in my arms (wink wink, Johanne).

oh, and I'm sorry I haven't been contacting anyone and skipping out of friends gathering the last month or so. I have been on a reduced diet so I can't exactly go out and eat. Too tempting.

July 13, 2008 Baby

When you're younger (ie. middle and high school), you always joke amongst friends who would get married first, who would have a baby first. Congratulations to Christina! Ivan is so quiet and he didn't cry once while in our arms!

I love how he knows when we are taking pictures and he always look into the camera! kawai!!!

July 7, 2008 It's Summer again

Finally uploaded some picture from my trip. Daisy and I had loads of fun. I enjoyed Nova Scotia and PEI the best. We hope to return to PEI soon. It would be a great family vacation.

I left my GPS on throughout the whole trip so here's a picture of where I went, I covered over 3600km from the time I landed in Halifax
